What’s the most challenging task for a traveller? Without a doubt – adapting to the ‘real world’. The one, in which, we don’t travel. The one, in which, we take on identities assigned to us. Become caregivers or workers, meet the same people all over again, and probably, never really leave the city or town that we live in. I think that’s really difficult.
I’m no optimist. Never been one. I guess, that’s why, this prompt doesn’t come easy. Sometimes, the silver linings simply don’t shine bright enough – to be seen – through the dense pocket of grey. And the whole world seems like its going implode. Fortunately, for travellers like us, there’s something to look forward too. And many times – look back at.
Neverland isn’t a fairytale for us. We’ve visited it – on countless occasions. And that gives us hope. Isn’t that what optimism is all about? To stay strong. At the end of it all, chances are you’ll make it through.

I love your photos – the first one is striking – Scandinavia? Ever since the travel bug bit me in 2009, I have never looked back to scale down my travelling. Well, I did, a little in 2012 & 2013 because I had to save some money. But to completely give up and go back to the “real world”, I can’t. I can’t fathom how my life would be. So, despite my dreary full-time job, I’m always optimistic about my travel plans every few months 🙂 I’m glad that travels have something for us, travellers, to look forward to!

Love your take on this challenge. So true. The real world can be suffocating with all its routines and monotonous deadlines. I’m not an optimist myself, preferring to be realistic a lot of the time. Then again, if you have hope and are positive, there’s no denying where you will go 🙂
Thanks Mabel! I think I keep jumping from one side (line of thought) to another. 🙂 I’m a cynic and realist. But, I’ve begun to see the other point of view too. Sometimes, I guess, it’s OK to have a little hope.

I’ve got a confession of sorts. I haven’t read the story and didn’t make the connection, until you pointed it out. I thought it was some sort of giant natural – art project they had installed. Another exhibit showcased a horse galloping. I wonder if it had anything to do with Black Beauty. 🙂
